Il est dyslexique. Il déteste les ordinateurs. Il parle français. C’est un romantique, il est déjà allé rejoindre une fille à Bubaï, en Arabie. Il a aussi offert un billet d’avion à une fille pour qu’elle puisse le rejoindre. Kate Bosworth devait parfois l’envoyer dormir sur le divan, car il ronflait trop fort !

En 1998, il s’est fracturé le dos en tombant d’un 3^e étage d’un immeuble en l’escaladant pour aider des amis à ouvrir la porte-fenêtre de la terrasse. Il a été paralysé pour 4 jours. Les médecins pensaient qu’il resterait paralysé, mais une opération miracle lui a permis de remarcher. “Laying in that hospital bed, I thought about the course of my life,” he said. “How reckless I’d been. How I hadn’t valued my life. I knew that wasn’t my destiny. I fixed my mind right there and then that I would leave [the] hospital on my own and strive to never take life for granted again. Never.”

Il s’est aussi déjà fracturé les côtes, le nez, les 2 jambes, un bras, un poignet, un doigt et un orteil. Il a eu un accident de voiture en 2007, 2 passagers ont été transportés à l’hôpital et le 16 juin 2009, il a fait une collision avec un autre véhicule, personne n’était blessé.

Sa 1^ère auto a été un Golf vert foncé d’environ 230$US. Il a été mis dehors des scouts après une session. Enfant, il était fasciné par les superhéros et il décida de devenir acteur en apprenant que Superman n’était qu’un acteur. Son 1^er baiser, à 12 ans, a été terrible. Il a rencontré une fille spéciale à 14 ans, il a perdu sa virginité avec elle. Le 12 octobre 2007, il a été impliqué dans un accident de voiture. Il aurait frappé deux voitures garées après qu’une autre est voulu faire un changement de voie. Il était accompagné de deux femmes, elles ont été conduites à l’hôpital, lui n’était pas blessé.

For The Lord of the Rings, he had to learn archery, ride a horse while doing it, and fight with two swords. "First, I learned archery, then I rode like 20 horses. I had physical training at the gym. I had to learn the Elves' language and how to fight like the Elves, which is based on martial arts." He originally auditioned for the role of Faramir.

In 1998, he broke his back after falling from the third floor of a building while climbing to help friends open their glass door on the patio. He stayed paralyzed for 4 days. The doctors thought he would stay paralyzed, but a miracle surgery got him walking again. “Laying in that hospital bed, I thought about the course of my life,” he said. “How reckless I’d been. How I hadn’t valued my life. I knew that wasn’t my destiny. I fixed my mind right there and then that I would leave [the] hospital on my own and strive to never take life for granted again. Never.”

He also broke some ribs, his nose, both his legs, an arm, a wrist, a finger, and a toe. He had a car accident on October 12, 2007, where he crashed into two parked cars after another one changed lane. The 2 girls passengers with him where sent to the hospital, but he was okay. On June 16, 2009, he crashed into another car, but no one was hurt.

His first car was a dark green Golf, bought at $ 230US. He was kicked out of boy scout, after one session. As a child, he was fascinated by superheroes, and he decided to become an actor, to be like Superman. His first kiss, at 12, was terrible. He met a special girl at 14, and he lost his virginity to her.
